Who we are. . . what we do
Marci Raver is a thought leader and authority in the etiquette industry. She is the founder and Chief Etiquette Officer of the Contemporary Etiquette Institute, a social and business etiquette consulting firm whose clients include the Ann Arbor Symphony, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor Junior League and The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
Internationally recognized for her etiquette expertise, Marci’s experience includes hosting events at the White House, managing a G8 Conference dining event on behalf of  Vice President Al Gore and pertinent international dignitaries,  and coordinating black tie functions for a variety of organizations including the Ann Arbor Symphony, the American Heart Association, the University of Michigan and the Detroit Institute of Arts.  Prior to starting her company, Marci served as a relationship marketing expert for Microsoft Corporation, where she handled C-level executive events.  She also spent many years at the Detroit Institute of Arts where she handled all media relations, and advised museum personnel on the nuances of dealing with celebrities and other VIPs.
With more than 20 years of experience in the public relations and marketing industry, Marci has been an international marketing advisor with government entities, coordinated special events for the University of Michigan and the Entertainment Industry Council in Hollywood.  She holds a Master of Arts in Advertising and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.  Marci is formally certified as an etiquette consultant through The Etiquette Institute in St. Louis, Missouri.
